Bob Sandie and Richard Sutcliffe win the National Vintage Doubles
24/03/2013 Congratulations must go to Bob Sandie and Richard Sutcliffe, present and past
members of the White Rose Club, who defeated all comers in the over 55 year old Vintage
tournament, held at Oundle School today. In a tournament that went ahead despite the snowy
conditions, they overcame tough opposition to win a thrilling final against Tony Hamilton and
Spencer Beal 11-4, 6-11, 11-6. In what has become a habit for Bob, the final went on far longer
than expected, keeping everyone out of the pub until well after 7pm.
CLUB SUBSCRIPTIONS - 01/11/2012
A new year for club membership started on November 1st. Rates are £225 for a single payment
due now, £232 in four equal quarterly instalments, the first of which is due now, or £240 for 12 equal
monthly chunks, the first of which is also due now. Otherwise you can use pay per play, paying £6
for each session.
Don't forget, quarterly and monthly instalments are different ways of paying annual membership, so
the commitment is for the whole year. If you want to stop and start, then pay per play.
Subscriptions include court use, lights and balls. All you need is to turn up with your gloves.
The continuing existence of the club and the courts depends on sufficient membership committed
to paying the costs.
AGM - 27/09/2012
At the AGM on September 27th, Tim Widdop stood down as Chairman after a year of hard work
pushing the club forward. He is replaced by John Hawke, with Charles Robinson elected as
Secretary, and Bob Sandie as Treasurer.
